Plot summary
Ivory taken from elephants in Africa is smuggled to China, the biggest market for ivory, where it is treated as a status symbol. In Tanzania, Elisifa Ngowi heads intelligence for a task force and leads a nighttime operation aimed at Shetani, a poacher blamed for 10,000 elephant deaths. In Kenya, Craig Millar oversees security for the Big Life Foundation and runs patrols that keep poachers off the savanna and stop farmers from killing elephants that raid their crops. In China, Andrea Crosta of the whistle-blowing site Wildleaks and the journalist Hongxiang Huang work undercover among dealers.

- Poacher Boniface Methew Malyango, nicknamed "The Devil Has No Mercy", was linked to 15 poaching gangs in 5 countries and around 1,000 elephants, and supplied ivory to Yang Fenglan, a subject of the film; his brothers Lucas Mathayo Malyango and Abdallah Ally Chaoga were arrested on October 29, 2015 smuggling 118 tusks worth over $863,000.
