Plot summary
Dr. Roger Girard is a wealthy scientist who experiments with head transplantation and wants to prove the technique can be applied to human beings. His caretaker, Danny's father, has a grown son: Danny, an extremely strong man whose mind is that of a child after brain damage from a mine accident. Manuel Cass, a serial killer, has just escaped from a mental hospital. He breaks into Girard's home, murders the caretaker and is badly hurt himself. Girard judges that the dying killer and Danny, who cannot survive alone, are both unlikely to be missed, and decides to put Cass's head onto Danny's body.
