Plot summary
Mr. Dong-sik Kim plays piano for the choir at a factory staffed mostly by women, and many of them are taken with their teacher. Miss Cho, one of the workers, pushes a friend to send him a letter confessing her feelings, and she later begins taking private lessons from him. At home, Mr. Kim and his wife, who is expecting their third child, have settled into a new house with their son Chang-soon and daughter Ae-soon. Mrs. Kim sews for a living and is too tired to keep the house clean, so the couple ask Miss Cho to find them a housemaid. Miss Cho brings the family Myeong-sook, a cleaner at the factory, who catches rats with her bare hands, teases the children and watches Mr. Kim closely.
