Plot summary
Chin Chen drives a taxi in Hong Kong. A woman fleeing a gang of criminals, Ho Mei Fong, dies in his back seat and leaves her purse hidden in the cab. The incriminating evidence the gang is after is inside that purse, and its members begin pressing Chen for it, though he has no idea it is there. The dead woman's sister, Police Inspector Ho Wai Ma, then visits him; the two had not spoken in years, because Mei Fong had become involved in the criminal underworld. Chen and Wai Ma agree to work together to track the killers down.
