Plot summary
While out by a river with Gian and Suneo, Nobita spots a stray dog drowning and takes it home, hiding it behind Doraemon's Kennel on the Wall. He names the dog Ichi and plays with it using a kendama. A stray cat found in a rainstorm, Zubu, joins them. When his mother Tamako grows suspicious, Nobita, Shizuka and Doraemon escape through the Anywhere Door to the mountains, where abandoned pets are endangered by deforestation. The friends send the animals 300 million years into the past, use the Ray of Evolution so the animals can run a food-making machine, and Nobita promises Ichi he will return. Their next visit strikes a time-space anomaly that drops them 1,000 years off course, where dogs and cats have built a civilized society and a broken time machine strands them.
