Plot summary
Marie, Berling and Vanja have been friends since elementary school and are now in the later part of their lives. Marie's husband leaves her on Christmas Eve, and the picture she had of herself as part of a happy family breaks apart. Berling has never married, refuses to let age slow her down, and her bond with her daughter is complicated. Vanja holds on to her memories of her late husband and struggles to move forward. The three women travel to Italy to take a cooking course in Puglia, where each of them has room to consider what comes next.
