Plot summary
In the near future, an epidemic of violent undead spreads across the world, and the government assembles a black-ops team of soldiers nicknamed the Zombie Squad to act as exterminators and control the outbreak. Raimi, Mercer, Kuller and their fellow troops carry out routine containment missions until they are sent to Ohio to try to find a cure. There they encounter a religious cult that protects and enables the zombies, believing the plague to be a punishment ordained by God; its members want to preserve the walking dead and let a new world be born. The cult's compound may hold a cure for the virus.
