The Cowboy Hat Movie (2020) on Netflix

Plot summary

In the American West after the Civil War, John B. Stetson arrives at the idea for a new kind of hat. A cowboy sets out to track what followed: how the hat was made, how its styling changed, and how it settled into American culture. His route runs from those early days to the present, asking whether the hat still holds the standing it had more than a century ago, and whether people who once kept their distance from what it stood for now wear it on their own terms. Along the way he looks at the master hatters who fitted presidents and at the partnership between Buffalo Bill Cody and Thomas Edison that got the Western going as a film genre.
