Plot summary
Julian Sklar is an elderly, eccentric painter in London whose fame has faded with age. In the 1990s he made two sets of paintings named the Christophers, drawn from his lover at the time, and a third set was never finished. His children Barnaby and Sallie bring in Lori Butler, an artist who has not shown her work in years, to pretend to be his assistant and complete that series without his knowledge. They mean to sell the paintings for a fortune after he dies. Julian earns money by recording Cameo videos for his fans.
