Plot summary

Winter, 1943. In Andorra, a small country in the Pyrenees, the people live in the tense calm of a borderland. Echoes of a nearby war reach them, and no one knows exactly what is being fought over. Sara and Antoni, a married couple in the valley, are waiting for their first child. Their priority is to survive another day. When a Jewish family fleeing Nazi persecution arrives, the lives of the locals are disrupted by fear and unease. Sara faces her own contradictions and has to choose between her head and her conscience.
