Plot summary
Federal agent Rigby is briefed in Washington on a ring that sells and refits aircraft motors left over from the war near Central America. Among those the government suspects are Elizabeth Hintten and her husband, Tugwell 'Tug' Hintten. Rigby's task is to recover the motors and raid the group's headquarters, so he travels to Los Trancos on Carlotta, passing himself off as a sportsman. There he enters the nightclub where Elizabeth sings, and after her performance he joins her and Tugwell in her dressing room, where Tugwell passes out.
