Plot summary
A dig team lifts a well-preserved human body out of a layer of shale. Scintillometer analysis shows it to be millions of years old, an early ancestor of modern man. One of the two archaeologists recognizes the importance of the find and wants it for himself, so he works to keep the museum administration and the board underwriting the dig from learning what has been uncovered. The officials are sent to spend the night at a local hotel while he continues on the specimen. The field foreman and the junior archaeologist are let in on the secret. An electrical storm arrives as they work, and the prehistoric man comes back to life.
