The Battery (2012) on Netflix

Plot summary

After the plague emptied New England, Ben and Mickey keep to the back roads of Connecticut without a destination. Both are former baseball players. The two were trapped in a Massachusetts house with Mickey's family for three months; his father, mother and brother died before they found a way out. Ben has settled into the new world, scavenging for supplies and refusing to sleep indoors. Mickey wants the comforts he lost and will not pick up basic survival skills, isolating himself with headphones and a CD player that burns through batteries. At the abandoned house of Mickey's girlfriend, Ben finds two walkie-talkies, and while the pair test their range they overhear two survivors, Annie and Frank, talking in a way that suggests an organized group called the Orchard. Mickey asks to join them and is turned down.
