Plot summary
Little footage exists of Marc-André Leclerc's solo ascents, and the 23-year-old Canadian shies away from publicity. In 2015 a film crew reads about his solo of The Corkscrew on Cerro Torre and travels to Squamish, British Columbia, to meet him. He is unaccustomed to cameras and indifferent to accolades, free soloing on Stawamus Chief and setting a speed record on The Grand Wall. In the Canadian Rockies he solos ice and mixed routes, including on the Stanley Headwall, in a single day. Then he drops out of contact for months, and the crew only locates him again in Alberta's Ghost River Wilderness Area. Brette Harrington, his girlfriend and a fellow climber, says he does not care about making his climbs matter to the world. His next aim is a winter solo ascent in Patagonia.
