Plot summary
The plan was to keep the trip home short. Both of his sisters are around: Maggie, the younger, wants the closeness the three of them once had back, while the sour relationship between Eric and Rachel keeps surfacing whenever they are in a room together. Eric is also caught up in the local poker game, where he wants to prove he is the town's best player, and that ambition holds up his departure. What was meant to be a quick visit becomes a nostalgic stay, and the adult life he has constructed runs up against the childhood conflicts waiting for him at home.
