Plot summary
Set in 1986 and 1987, the story opens with Pallavaram Paranjothi Pandian losing a clerk's post because he has no money for bribes. Nachinarkiniyan, called Iniyan, is turned down the same way at his CBI interview. His father Porchelvan, a clerk in the CBI office, pleads with his seniors on his son's behalf, which earns him the hostility of the corrupt officer Uthaman. Porchelvan writes an anonymous letter complaining that Uthaman demanded money during a raid, and Uthaman answers by humiliating Iniyan at the interview and asking him for a bribe. Iniyan decides to loot black money from the corrupt and the rich, and forms a gang that poses as CBI and income tax officers to raid them.
