Plot summary
A documentary looks at the information people give away whenever they browse a website, install an application or buy goods online. It discusses the wording of user agreements and how service providers gather and use that data. It examines the privacy policies and terms of service of companies including Facebook, Google and LinkedIn, which are long, poorly worded and misleading, allowing user information to be collected and legally shared with third parties. It warns that accepting without reading, after scrolling past dense text, carries risks, and considers what corporations and governments can do with personal data once consent is given.
