Plot summary
Stan Armbrewster, an executive at the military contractor Norton Cyberdyne, brings public relations head Tim Calhoun to the building's basement to show off its newest product: a reptilian humanoid called the Syngenor, short for Synthesized Genetic Organism. The creature gets loose, and it reaches the home of its creator, Ethan Valentine, killing him; his niece Susan fights it off and destroys it with a makeshift flamethrower. Norton Cyberdyne's chief executive, Carter Brown, summons the board, paranoid about members angling for his job. David Greenwalt, the new head of the project, explains that the Syngenor was designed as a supersoldier for a war in the Middle East and can reproduce on its own every 24 hours, with more of them in storage. Susan meets Nick Cary, a journalist investigating the company, and they team up to infiltrate it.

- Scared to Death director William Malone was asked to direct this sequel and was originally going to, but passed because he had an opportunity to direct Creature. He still participated in creating the film's monster costumes.
- Producer Jack F. Murphy was impressed by the monster in the original Scared to Death and wanted to build another film around the same design, but deliberately dropped its characters and plot so a new audience that never heard of the first film would not be alienated.
