Plot summary
Kirat Assi is a British radio presenter who was drawn into a long online relationship with a man who called himself Bobby Jandu. The name belonged to a fictitious person, and the courtship she describes ran for nearly ten years. In the documentary she recounts those years in her own words, along with the emotional and psychological manipulation she says she endured and the cultural and family pressures that shaped her experience. The film, a British true crime documentary, grew out of a 2021 podcast of the same name from Tortoise Media and examines deception, emotional manipulation and online relationships.
