Still Life in Lodz (2019) on Netflix

Plot summary

Lilka Elbaum slept beneath a still-life painting in the Lodz apartment where she spent her childhood; it was in front of her when she woke and when she fell asleep. The building dates to the late 1890s, and the painting may have been there from the start, sharing the rooms with Jewish families before the war, a German family during it, and Lilka's own family afterward. In October 1968 it was taken down, when she and most of Poland's Jews were expelled. Lilka lives in Boston now, and she returns to Lodz with Paul Celler, a New Yorker, and Roni Ben Ari, an Israeli, to look for objects from her memory and traces of her family's past.
