Plot summary
Kumiko Ōmae returns to Kitauji High School for a second year, and the concert band welcomes four newcomers. Kanade Hisaishi takes up the euphonium, while Mirei Suzuki, Satsuki Suzuki and Motomu Tsukinaga join the bass section. The band's president, Yūko Yoshikawa, gives Kumiko and Tomoe Kabe the task of overseeing the first-years and names gold at the national competition as the aim. Kumiko picks up on a gap between the newcomers and the older members. Mirei walks out during the Sunrise Festival, unhappy that Hazuki Katō and Satsuki treat the performance lightly, and Kumiko sets off after her with Kanade.
