Plot summary
At a Theta Pi party celebrating the sisters' senior year, they play a prank on Megan's boyfriend Garrett, who is Chugs' brother, as payback for his infidelity. Chugs gives him vitamins and says they are roofies; Megan pretends to be dead. Garrett drives a tire iron into her, and she dies. Cassidy, Jessica, Ellie, Claire and Chugs put Megan and the tool down a mine shaft and promise never to speak of it; Jessica blackmails Cassidy into keeping quiet. Eight months later, on graduation day at Rosman University, each of the five gets an anonymous text with a picture of a robed arm holding the bloodied tire iron. Megan's younger sister Maggie arrives on campus to honor her memory.

- Mark Rosman wrote and directed the 1982 original The House on Sorority Row, then came aboard the 2009 remake as an executive producer: producers Mike Karz and Darrin Holender hired Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger to update it, keeping the "morality tale" story but insisting more humor be injected. The finished script impressed Rosman enough to join.
- For the sorority row exteriors, the production dressed about 10 real houses in Homestead, Pennsylvania, one block from the Carnegie Library of Homestead, and shot most of the film there at night.
