Plot summary

Jim Harwood returns to the Canadian wilds each year to record the habits of the Canadian lynx, and this season his resentful 16-year-old daughter Emmy has to come along. His team of Rob and Marci completes the group at a ski lodge. When they arrive, the lynx are gone. The three set up remote cameras through the woods, and Emmy watches the feeds from the cabin. Huge footprints beside a camera, a snowmobile found wrecked in the morning and growling outside the cabin at night give them no clear answer. Near the lodge, ranger Barry has been tracking tourists who disappeared in the area, though his colleague Gibbons doubts an unusual animal is at work. Marci reports the snowmobile at the ranger station, and Barry adds the incident to the cluster he is recording.
