Plot summary
Snot and Splash spend the winter holiday at their grandmother's house in Mouthwash. The town has always been a thoroughly ordinary place, but this winter the brothers find things there out of place. The oddest change is that the holes in Mouthwash keep disappearing. Snot is messy and Splash is diligent, and the two of them start looking into what is behind it. Their opposite natures soon land them in an argument with each other, and the investigation is in danger of falling apart. Mouthwash can be put right again only if the brothers find a way to act together.
