Plot summary
Alex Ferguson grew up in Govan and played as a striker, including a spell at Rangers, before moving into management. He went on to manage Aberdeen and the Scotland national team, and then spent 26 years in charge of Manchester United. Archive footage and interviews, begun in 2016, cover that career, and the film also follows his recovery from a brain hemorrhage in 2018 and the account of his life he gave to his son. Family members, former players and two doctors add their recollections, and the making of the film helped him settle a long-running rift with a former player over lunch.
