Plot summary
Violent clashes between Sherpas and European climbers on Everest in 2013 drew worldwide attention, and a film crew set out to cover the 2014 climbing season from the Sherpa side. Its cameras follow Phurba Tashi, a Sherpa who has reached the summit of Everest 21 times and works as the lead for the expedition company run by Russell Brice. In Khumjung, Tashi's wife and family would rather he gave up the danger and the pay. The crew also records the Sherpas' spiritual bond with the mountain and the loads they haul up the route so that foreign clients can climb. While the crew is on location, an ice avalanche on the Khumbu Icefall kills 16 Sherpas.
