Plot summary
Jimmy Wagner joins a dive on a sunken ship, part of a group searching the wreck, and his father is among them. Great white sharks attack the divers and Jimmy is the only one to come out alive. Ten years later he is married to Carrie and raising their son Danny, carrying guilt over his father and a fear of sharks. Volkoff wants the treasure that went down with the ship and asks Jimmy to help him find it, an offer Jimmy refuses. When Mayor John Cortell asks him to patrol the beaches ahead of a beach party, Jimmy takes the job.
