Plot summary
Leonard abducts women and holds them captive, and he keeps a scrapbook as a record of what each of them endured at his hands. Photographs, pieces of clothing and other small trophies fill its pages, and every victim is forced to write her own ordeal into the book herself. Clara becomes the newest of them, tied to a chair in a trailer that stands alone, its walls and furniture covered with photographs and body parts of the women who came before her. Leonard shows her the scrapbook and tells her that she will be the last chapter, written before he tries to get the book published. He beats and rapes her, and she is left starving, filthy and naked, made to add her own words to the pages.
