Plot summary
The psychic Master Kenshin presents a cursed videotape on a televised variety show. Ayaka Ichijo, a prodigy whose IQ is said to be 200, doubts that the tape kills anyone, but she takes it home to look into it. That night her younger sister Futaba watches out of curiosity. The footage shows Sadako climbing from a well, and Futaba begins seeing Sadako at school in the forms of people she knows. Ayaka returns to Kenshin's office, where she talks a frightened young man, Oji Maeda, down from a ledge before Kenshin tries to exorcise the tape and Ayaka and Oji watch it. Still unconvinced, she contacts Kanden, a germaphobic recluse who also studies the video.
