Wright King
Biography
Wright King was an American actor who worked in theater, film and television for more than forty years. Born in Okmulgee, he trained at the St Louis School of Theater and graduated in 1941. He made his television debut in 1949 in Captain Video and His Video Rangers and later worked in both the United States and the United Kingdom. He became best known as Jason Nichols on Wanted Dead or Alive, which ran from 1958 to 1961, and he appeared in numerous Westerns. His film credits included A Streetcar Named Desire (1951), after he had performed in the original stage production, plus King Rat (1965) and Finian's Rainbow (1968). On television he also appeared in Cheyenne, Gunsmoke, Johnny Jupiter, The Silent Service, Have Gun Will Travel and The Missiles of October. He died in 2018.
