Vanessa Branch
Biography
American actress and model Vanessa Branch moved from international modeling into film and television. Born in London, she studied at Middlebury College, earned a degree in 1994 with a double major in French and theater, and that same year became Miss Vermont and competed in Miss America 1995. She modeled for Elle and Harper's Bazaar before settling in Los Angeles to pursue acting. From 2002 to 2010 she was the British spokesperson in the long-running Orbit chewing gum commercials, a campaign that produced 45 ads and became her best-known work in the United States. She also played Giselle in the first three Pirates of the Caribbean movies, directed by Gore Verbinski, and in the short Tales of the Code: Wedlocked. Branch has also taken leading parts in multiple Chinese-language movies, acting in Mandarin.
