Biography

Tom Brown was an American actor and model whose career began in childhood, when he was carried onto a stage in his mother's arms at six months old. Born in New York City, he began as a child model at the age of two, posed as the Arrow Collar Boy, the Buick boy and Buster Brown, and attended the New York Professional Children's School. He was best remembered for two roles: the title part in The Adventures of Smilin' Jack and Gilbert Blythe in Anne of Green Gables (1934). Later he moved into television, with parts on General Hospital, Gunsmoke, Days of Our Lives and Mr. Adams and Eve, and he played Lt. Rovacs in a recurring role on Mr. Lucky. He also served in the United States Army in World War II and the Korean War.
