Tim Preece

Tim Preece is an English actor whose British television work reaches back to the 1960s, alongside a stage career. Born in Shrewsbury, he trained at the Bristol Old Vic. A 1965 casting as Nipple in David Halliwell's Little Malcolm and His Struggle Against the Eunuchs took him to the Dublin Theatre Festival, then to a West End premiere with John Hurt in 1966 and to Broadway that autumn under Alan Arkin's direction; he was the only member of the original company to make the transfer. On screen he played Codal in the Doctor Who story Planet of the Daleks, and had a recurring role as Tom Patterson on The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, returning for The Legacy of Reginald Perrin. He was Rev. Sparrow in Waiting for God and turned up in Foyle's War, Casualty and Peep Show. In 2017 he acted at the Royal National Theatre in the improvised play Lost Without Words.
