Thure Riefenstein
Biography
Born in Ulm, Thure Riefenstein is a German actor who has also worked as a director, writer and producer. He graduated from an acting school in Germany in 1989, spent five years on stage in Berlin, and later studied film and acting in New York and Los Angeles. His international screen work includes the WW2 drama Dark Blue World (2001), the comedy 666: In Bed with the Devil (2002), and Willie and Me (2022), in which he played August with Willie Nelson. On television, he was the male lead detective in Kommissarin Lucas, which earned an Adolf Grimme Award nomination, and he received an International Emmy Award nomination for the mini-series Julie, chevalier de Maupin. His stage credits include Shakespeare and Brecht plays, and he has directed, written and produced films. He also provided voice work for the Wolfenstein sequels and for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Riefenstein spent a year as an associate member of the Actors Gang in Culver City, where he trained alongside Cynthia Ettinger and Tim Robbins.

Riefenstein made his American debut in the New York production of Jean Genet's The Maids, which was staged for the Berkshire Theatre Festival.

Riefenstein appeared in the revue The Blue Angel alongside Ute Lemper, performing at Berlin's Theater des Westens and the Hamburger Schauspielhaus. Peter Zadek and Jérôme Savary directed the legendary show.
