Biography

Teala Loring was an American actress who appeared in more than 30 films during the 1940s. Born Marcia Eloise Griffin in Denver, Colorado, she came from a family of performers and first went on screen as Judith Gibson, taking uncredited and bit parts at Paramount from 1942, among them a cigarette girl in Holiday Inn and a telephone operator in Double Indemnity (1944). From 1945 to 1947 she made 10 films for the Poverty Row studio Monogram Pictures, including Fall Guy (1947), and had supporting roles in two Kay Francis pictures, Allotment Wives and Wife Wanted. Her part as a young mother entangled in an illegal adoption racket in Black Market Babies (1945) drew a dismissive notice from The New York Times. Arizona Cowboy in 1950, in which Rex Allen made his screen debut, was her last film.
