Susan French

Susan French was an American actress and puppeteer whose career spanned stage, television, and film. Born in Los Angeles in 1912, she graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and performed in two Broadway plays early on. She also worked in radio and, during World War II, as a riveter while helping to start a theater group. Her screen credits included the television movie Captain America II: Death Too Soon (1979), in which she played Mrs. Shaw, and Somewhere in Time (1980), for which the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films named her best supporting actress. She appeared in Jaws 2 (1978) and such films as The Impossible Years (1968), House (1985), and Flatliners (1990). On television, she had a recurring role on Cagney & Lacey and guest-starred in Dallas, Falcon Crest, L.A. Law, and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Her final film role was in Fist of the North Star (1995).
