Sascha Radetsky
Biography
Sascha Radetsky is an American actor, writer, and retired ballet dancer who was born in Santa Cruz, California, and first trained in the San Francisco area before studying at the Bolshoi Academy and the Kirov Academy. He began at American Ballet Theatre in 1995 as an apprentice, joined its corps de ballet, and became a soloist in 2003. In 2000 he played Charlie in Center Stage, and he later took the role of Ross in the Starz series Flesh and Bone. After dancing as a principal with Dutch National Ballet, he returned to ABT in 2010 as a soloist and retired in 2014. His later screen credits include A Nutcracker Christmas (2016) and Center Stage: On Pointe (2016), in which he played Charlie again. He has contributed writing to Dance Magazine and other outlets, and in 2018 he became artistic director of the Studio Company at American Ballet Theatre.

Early training
Sascha Radetsky was invited at age 15 to train at Moscow's Bolshoi Academy under Pyotr Pestov, and also trained at the Kirov Academy in Washington, D.C.
A change of course
In 2018 Radetsky became artistic director of American Ballet Theatre's Studio Company, succeeding Kate Lydon, who had held the role for 15 years.
