Plot summary

The American Ballet Company faces financial trouble, and its head, Jonathan Reeves, wants to widen its repertoire beyond ballet into contemporary dance. Tommy, Charlie and Cooper set up a competitive camp where the dancers who win a place will join the company. Bella Parker lives in the shadow of her sister Kate, a famous ballet dancer, and registers under the name Miller to avoid the comparison. She is picked for the camp and struggles to fit in, while the instructor, Lorenza, is harshly critical of her dancing. Paired with the quiet Damon, Bella gains confidence. Gwen Murphy, a young dance prodigy, also competes.
