Sarah Alexander
Biography
Sarah Alexander is an English actress who moved into comedy acting after getting her start at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Her early television work included The Bill, Lovejoy and Drop the Dead Donkey, and she appeared on stage in Rappaccini's Daughter and Macbeth. She became known for sketch shows, among them Armstrong and Miller, Smith and Jones and Smack the Pony, for which she also wrote. Coupling, the BBC sitcom in which she played Susan Walker, aired four series between 2000 and 2004, and she later took roles in The Worst Week of My Life, Green Wing and Jonathan Creek as Polly Creek. Her films include I Could Never Be Your Woman (2007) and Stardust (2007), and she has also worked in radio, starring in The Gobetweenies.

Alexander appeared in the recurring "Nude Practice" sketch on Armstrong and Miller, a Channel 4 show. She had met Ben Miller while making a disposable-camera commercial in the mid-1990s, and he introduced her to Alexander Armstrong.
Beyond film
Alexander took the role of Beatrice at the Gate Theatre Studio in 1996, appearing in the British premiere of Rappaccini's Daughter, the sole play written by Octavio Paz.
