Saniyya Sidney
Biography
Saniyya Sidney is an American actress born in Los Angeles who has been working on screen since she was a child. She first appeared in the short horror picture The Babysitters in 2012, then had a guest part in the miniseries Roots and a recurring role as Flora Harris on American Horror Story: Roanoke, which became her breakthrough. In December 2016 she played Raynell Maxson in Fences and Constance Johnson in Hidden Figures; the ensemble of Fences brought her nominations from the Critics' Choice Awards and the Screen Actors Guild. Sidney later played Lila in the superhero film Fast Color and earned praise as the lead of Fox's vampire drama The Passage. In King Richard (2021) she portrayed a young Venus Williams, receiving nominations for a Black Reel Award and a Critics' Choice Movie Award.
