Ryan Seacrest

Biography

Ryan Seacrest is an American television host and producer whose broadcasting career began in Atlanta, where a high school internship at WSTR turned into an on-air shift when a regular DJ was absent. He hosted children's game shows before joining American Idol as co-host in 2002 alongside Brian Dunkleman, then became the show's sole host once Dunkleman resigned. Emmy nominations for American Idol followed each year from 2004 to 2013 and again in 2016, and he won an Emmy for producing Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution in 2010. He took over American Top 40 in 2004 and shared hosting duties on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve starting in 2005, later becoming its sole host. His other work includes co-hosting and executive producing Live with Kelly and Ryan, hosting Wheel of Fortune beginning in 2024, and producing series through Ryan Seacrest Productions.
