Robert Webb
Biography
Robert Webb is an English comedian, actor and writer who was born in Boston in 1972 and grew up in Woodhall Spa. His first television acting break came in 2000 with the BBC sketch show Bruiser, which he also helped write, and he and David Mitchell then made The Mitchell and Webb Situation. The duo starred in the Channel 4 sitcom Peep Show, where Webb played Jeremy Usbourne, and their sketch series That Mitchell and Webb Look won the BAFTA in the best comedy program or series category. They toured The Two Faces of Mitchell and Webb and appeared in the film Magicians (2007). Webb's solo screen work includes the sitcom The Smoking Room and the film Confetti (2006), and he has been a regular comedy panelist, hosted and narrated programs, and wrote the books This Mitchell and Webb Book and Come Again.

Early training
Webb studied English at Robinson College, Cambridge, starting in 1992. There he rose to vice-president of the Footlights, and it was at a 1993 audition for a Footlights Cinderella that he met David Mitchell.
First role
In January 1995 Webb and another person created their first show, Innocent Millions Dead or Dying - A Wry Look at the Post-Apocalyptic Age (With Songs). Webb later called it "f***ing terrible".
First role
In 2008, Webb appeared in the UK premiere of Neil LaBute's Fat Pig, which marked his West End stage debut.
Behind the camera
Mitchell and Webb wrote and filmed Playing Shop, a BBC Two comedy pilot about two men running a business from their shed. The BBC were pleased with it, but the pair dropped it because they thought it resembled Peep Show too closely.
