Renoly Santiago
Biography
Renoly Santiago is a Puerto Rican actor who also sings and writes, born in Lajas and raised in Union City, New Jersey. He broke through in the United States with the 1993 television show CityKids, playing Tito, and he helped write its pilot, which received an Emmy nomination. His early film work included Raúl Sanchero in Dangerous Minds (1995), the hacker called Phantom Phreak in Hackers (1995), and Mikey in Daylight (1996). In Con Air (1997) he played Ramón Martínez, a criminal nicknamed Sally-Can't Dance and described as androgynous. After a three year break from screens, he took the Broadway role of Tony Hernandez in Paul Simon's musical The Capeman, a part that earned him a 1998 Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical. He has recorded with La India, Danny Rivera, Paul Simon and Marc Anthony. He also appeared in Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Touched by an Angel.

Beyond film
Renoly Santiago stepped away from on-screen work for three years to play Tony "Umbrella Man" Hernandez in Paul Simon's Broadway musical The Capeman. Hernandez led the gang The Vampires, and the part brought Santiago a 1998 Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical.
A change of course
Santiago taught professional acting classes at The William V. Musto Cultural Center from March 6 to May 8, 2014, as part of the Grace Theatre Workshop, covering monologue and scene studies.
Beyond film
Santiago has also worked as a singer, and in that role he has recorded with performers including Marc Anthony, Paul Simon, Danny Rivera and La India.
