Biography

Peter Mark Richman was an American actor of film and television, credited for years as Mark Richman, who appeared in roughly 30 features and 130 television series between the 1950s and his retirement in 2011. Born in Philadelphia, he belonged to New York's Actors Studio and was already employed steadily on television when he made his film debut in William Wyler's Friendly Persuasion (1956). He played Nick Cain in the 1961 features The Murder Men and The Crimebusters, drawn from his series Cain's Hundred, and was a prolific guest actor in shows including The Fugitive, Mission: Impossible, The F.B.I. and Matlock. He played Ralph Offenhouse in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Andrew Laird on Dynasty from 1981 to 1984, and voiced the Phantom in Defenders of the Earth. His later films included Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989) and Mysteria (2011). He died in 2021.
