Peter Baldwin

Peter Baldwin was an American actor and director who started out as a contract player at Paramount Studios. Born in Winnetka, he played Johnson in Stalag 17 (1953) and Lieutenant Walker in Little Boy Lost the same year, and later took the part of murderer Tony Benson in a 1962 episode of Perry Mason. He appeared in the Italian thriller The Weekend Murders (1970). Baldwin moved into television directing, helming episodes of The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family from 1970 to 1971 and Benson from 1979 to 1980, and working on Needles and Pins, Foley Square and a few episodes of Family Ties. His work on The Wonder Years brought him an Emmy in 1988, and he directed the short-lived returns of Mary Tyler Moore in Mary and Lucille Ball in Life with Lucy in the 1980s. An episode of Even Stevens in 2002 was his final directing credit, and he died in 2017.
