Patrick Wright
Biography
Patrick Wright was an actor who became a familiar presence in drive-in exploitation pictures during the 1970s. He was born in San Francisco, California, and first took up acting in the late 1960s. He acted in three movies for Russ Meyer. Wright usually played rough authority figures and coarse working-class men: police officers, soldiers, prison guards, villains, and boors. Among his most memorable parts were a friendly police sergeant in Roller Boogie (1979), the money behind an illegal cross-country contest in Paul Bartel's Cannonball (1976), and a sheriff in Track of the Moon Beast (1976). He also produced the horror spoof Frightmare (1983), directed the teen comedy Hollywood High, and made guest appearances on television programs including Dynasty and The Dukes of Hazzard. Using names such as Silver Foxx and Bal Johnson, he ended his career with small straight-to-video roles before his death in 2004.
