Biography

Paolo Paoloni was an Italian actor whose career was built largely on comedy. He was a close friend of the director Luciano Salce, and he became best known for the Fantozzi film saga, in which he played the Galactic Mega-director. Comedy was the mainstay of his screen work, and he appeared in several comic productions over the years. He also took part in horror films, among them Cannibal Holocaust (1980). That saga stayed with him, and it remained the work for which he was chiefly remembered. Born in Bodio in 1929, he spent his working life in Italian film productions. His death came on 9 January 2019, when he was 89.
