Ornella Muti
Biography
Ornella Muti is an Italian actress who began as a teenage model and made her film debut at fourteen in The Most Beautiful Wife (1970). Born in Rome, she became one of Italy's best-known performers, moving through erotic comedies in the early 1970s and then popular comedies opposite the country's leading actors, among them Bonnie and Clyde Italian Style (1983), Rich and Poor (1983), The Taming of the Scoundrel (1980) and Madly in Love (1981), the last two with Adriano Celentano. Dramatic work includes Nest of Vipers (1978) and Tales of Ordinary Madness (1981). Outside Italy she is best known as Princess Aura in Flash Gordon (1980), and she has also appeared in European productions such as The Tulse Luper Suitcases, Part 1: The Moab Story (2003) and in American films including Oscar (1991), Once Upon a Crime... (1992) and To Rome with Love (2012), alongside television dramas.

A role that slipped away
In 1981, Muti declined the lead role in For Your Eyes Only, which later went to Carole Bouquet, since the production did not hire her costume designer, Wayne Finkelman.
Big break
In 1974, Muti appeared in Mario Monicelli's Come Home and Meet My Wife. The film was a huge success and made her widely popular.
