Navin Chowdhry
Biography
Navin Chowdhry is an English actor born and raised in Bristol. He made his screen debut at sixteen in the 1988 film Madame Sousatzka, playing opposite Shabana Azmi and Shirley MacLaine. He became known on television as IT teacher Kurt McKenna in the comedy Teachers from 2001 to 2003 and for A Touch of Cloth, and went on to roles such as PC Sanjay Singh in Dalziel and Pascoe, Raph in NY-LON, and Mani in Sinchronicity. His other credits include the 2005 Doctor Who episode Aliens of London, Skellig (2009), the BBC drama Doctor Foster, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017). On stage he appeared at The Old Vic in Night Sky and in The Girl Who Fell. He also produced the short film This Bastard Business. From 2022 he played Nish Panesar in EastEnders, winning the 2025 British Soap Award for Villain of the Year.
