Beyond film
On the British weekly satire show That Was The Week That Was in the early 1960s, Millicent Martin sang topical songs as its resident performer. The day after President Kennedy was assassinated, she performed "In the Summer of His Years" on the show, written by Herbert Kretzmer and David Lee hours after the assassination.
A change of course
Sheldon Leonard devised the premise for From a Bird's Eye View after Sir Lew Grade sent him six of Millicent Martin's comedy sketches, hoping to create a comedy film series for both American and British audiences.
